This Winter Quarter of 2026, Teach LA entered its WINTER ARC. Dev Team continued producing their superb educational programs, reaching new area topics designed for the needs of the contemporary youth, while Curriculum also chartered new courses. This quarter was not of complacency, but rather of reaching towards the STARS. The winter nights can get lonely, but with Teach LA by our sides, I think our members would agree the ostensibly difficult winter was a whole lot more fun.

Bot Lab
We all know that feeling. You’re doomscrolling Reels (becuase we ALL do that), and suddenly you get a notification: someone has requested to follow you! You’re excited (who’s this new person interested in my life???) until you check the username and it’s juliaxxx29867. BOT ALERT!
That’s disappointing, but at least you can identify who the bot is. Young kids nowadays, though, may not have developed that crucial online literacy. To help with that, the Bot Lab Team has cooked up a NEW project, crafting a lot of new components from scratch. Part of this lab is two games: a maze game called the SLAM Gam, and an educational “Is This a Robot?” game. It’s all very cute, may I add.

Static Site
This quarter, it was all about healing for Static Site. We redesigned our project page, added a schedule page, and even brought back our blogs! There was some obstacles, such as lower attendance, but nevertheless, we stuck the landing.

Algorithm Team
Do you want to be unemployed?
Everyone will answer “No,” but everyday you don’t do your LeetCode, you’re basically saying “Yes.” However, LeetCode and DSAs are kind of difficult to master. So why not start them young? This lab is meant to help young people learn DSA in a fun and creative way! SOme of the algorithms we cover (through games and fun activities) include BFS, merge sort, and binary search!

Interns
Our Dev Team Interns had some fascinating projects. From AI-powered college recommendations, to awesome Figma Designs (what the Figma?), to backend visualizations. Our interns were cooking like 5 star Michellin chefs. We were eating good.

Fairburn
When our editor went down (it ultimately was revealed as an issue of unpaid subscriptions), our Fairbun team (Tiff and Neil) faced an interesting challenge. How would they continue teaching kids about Python loops and variables without an active IDE? However, being the intelligent teachers they are, they settled on using fun worksheets to continue educating their students. Hats off to them, may they have luck in the post-grad world!

Beethoven
Clara, Anusha, and their team moved on from Python turtle to Python data structures! Their quarter was filled with arrays, lists, tuples, dictionaries, stacks, and queues! Their team also had some significant bonding by being involved in an Uber court case???

React
Michael and Shayla tried finding a new school…AND THEY DID IT! Now, they’re going to be teaching at Whitman High School. That’s not all, folks, as they’ll be moving on from React to the Unity Game Engine! Only thing more awesome than this is Chainsaw Man!
Emerson
When the editor went down, Javier and Bhavesh were very concerned. They had switched from teaching Python Turtle to teaching Web Dev (specifically HTML and CSS). Yet, they found a workaround: using W3Schools to let the kids make their own website using HTML. Their plans were thrown a bit off course, but adaptation was possible. Oh, and the brainrot continued, duh.

Conclusion
All roads lead to Rome…and Teach LA! This quarter has had its ups and downs, from attendance to editor outages, but our teams have continued to strive in the midst of it all. Give a round of applause to our Teach LA teams! See y’all for the Spring recap!
